The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority IRDA has directed insurance companies to issue digital policies using DigiLocker. IRDA has instructed the insurance companies to provide the facility and usage of DigiLocker to the retail insured. At present, there is a facility to keep driving license, vehicle registration, voter ID card, PAN card, Aadhaar and many other government issued documents in DigiLocker. Will also eliminate the need for physical documents. It is worth mentioning that this facility was introduced by the Central Government to reduce the use of physical documents.
